- מִשְׁאֶרֶתf. 1) (b. h.; שָׁאַר to swell, rise; cmp. שְׂאוֹר) baking trough or dish. Tanḥ. Vaëra 14 (ref. to Ex. 7:28) אימתי מ׳ מצויהוכ׳ when is the trough near the oven? 2) (שָׁאַר to remain) remainder.Pl. מִשְׁאָרוֹת. Mekh. Bo s. 13 (ref. to משארתם, Ex. 12:34; v. Targ.) אלו שיורי מצה ומרור that means the remnants of the unleavened bread and the bitter herbs (of the Passover meal); Tanḥ. Bo 8.
